Cookies on Mythic Mandarin
Mythic Mandarin uses no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. That is why you do not see a cookie banner: there is nothing optional to agree to.
Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are set by WordPress only when you log in (All Access members and site editors) or open a password-protected page. The website cannot work for those features without them, so they need no consent.
- wordpress_logged_in_… and wordpress_sec_…: keep you logged in securely (end with your session, or after up to 14 days if you tick “Remember me”).
- wordpress_test_cookie: checks on the login page that your browser accepts cookies (session).
- wp-settings-…: remember editor interface settings for logged-in site editors (up to one year).
- wp-postpass_…: remembers that you entered the password of a password-protected page (up to 10 days).
- Our caching plugin, LiteSpeed Cache, can set a technical cookie such as _lscache_vary for logged-in users so they are not shown cached public pages.
Local storage (not cookies)
Some features save data in your browser’s local storage instead: your Hanzi Warrior progress (hanziWarriorState) and your lesson settings and reading progress (mm_prefs_v1, mm_progress_v1). This data stays on your device and is never sent to us. Details are in our Privacy Policy.
How to remove cookies and stored data
You can delete cookies and local storage for mythicmandarin.com at any time in your browser settings. Deleting local storage resets your Hanzi Warrior progress and lesson settings.
Changes
If an optional service (for example analytics) is ever added, it will only start after you agree to it, and this page will list it first. Questions: hello@mythicmandarin.com.
